Desigualdad salarial en el mercado laboral estadounidense: La situación de los inmigrantes mexicanos, cubanos y centroamericanos

this article analyzes salary differences between the native white, non-hispanic population, afro-north americans and latin american and caribbean immigrants in the united states. the method for decomposition of salary differences developed by oaxaca (1973) is used to establish to what extent the difference is due to differences in human capital among the workers, and to what extent it is due to the differential treatment the market exercises over some workers. results highlight great differences in human capital among the workers, but also, the unequal treatment of the market exercised principally toward some groups of latin american workers.
