Abstract:

consumption?s pattern for processed foods and ready-to-eat meals has dual significance. since a business perspective, the consumption of such foods is growing. in relation with the consumer, it allows studies to test a set of theories and techniques of analysis in order to identify the impact of attitudes, as well as habits and socio-demographic variables in food consumption behavior. this paper studies a sample of households that consume meals prepared and ready meals to apply the theory of planned behavior (tpb) and dealing with multivariate analysis data and logistic regression, by using over 160 household in buenos aires (argentina), applied in 2006. main results allow us to observe differences among consumers in high and low intake of such foods.
