ESTADO NACIONAL Y COMUNIDAD ANDINA. DISCIPLINAMIENTO Y ARTICULACIóN SOCIAL EN ARICA, 1880-1929

this study develops an historiographical approach to the period commonly known as the chilenization of northern chile covering the years between 1880-1929. it examines the relationship of the social organization of andean society with the chilean state disciplining of the socio-cultural space including the current rural sector in the province of arica with its low valleys, foothills and altiplano sector. the study is a historiographical analysis of regional and national interest, using historical sources from local archives that deal with the historical characterization of the political, economic, social and cultural structures in this area.
