Abstract:

this article focuses on the intense movement of objects during the main period of portuguese navigation, and the ability of men and women to introduce goods of the portuguese empire in their daily lives. consumption and material culture have been widely analyzed in order to understand the meanings that the possession of objects represented in everyday life throughout history, as well as how the material goods were used in daily life. post-mortem inventories of residents of the town of sabará were studied in order to demonstrate that africa, asia, america and europe have found a proper place in the tables of sabará.
