Vanosruidos de la lengua: la construcción del lenguaje poético en EurípidesKeywords: euripides, tragedy, rhetoric, oxymoron, poliptoton, metaphor. Abstract: the traditionalrhetorical analysis of poetic language in euripides' tragedies often gives arecount of a variety of style resources. however, euripides suggests ameta-discursive reflection on the relationship between the named object and thename under which it is named, by reintroducing a consciousness of theirliterary work. the thorough understanding of this meta-discursive approach tothe tragedy will give us a key that will allow us to deepen the sense ofitsrhetorical uses.we'lltry toanalyze this euripides'languageintheir six tragediesof war-theme -heraclidae, hecuba, troades, helen, supplicesand iphigenia at aulis-, as an autonomous intellectual constructionthat in its rhetoric complexity serves as a tool and mirror (and, therefore, ascognitive approach) to the contemplation of the new world that the end of the 5thcentury proposes.
