Jóvenes chilenos y construcción socioimaginaria del Ser-Otro Mujer

the objective of this article is to present the major results of research of a project which has the knowledge of the end result how chileans socially construct the otherness of the other woman-being, indigenous and immigrant. specifically it aboards the perspective of youth in relation to the socio-image of the adult world, respecting the other woman-being. the central argument of this article is to re-affirm that the familiar ？machismo？ forms a part of the chilean identity, understood as a social construction and is imaginary, and, as a result of this act of symbolic violence, our traditional culture has finally given this assertion. however, continuities and ruptures on the dominant discourse about the alleged inferiority of women seen in contemporary chilean society. in the context of a globalized world are the youth who speed up the movement that is gradually changing gender relations, through critical views of the past and new social practices.
