Análisis espacial del Cerrito Colorado de La Ciénaga de Arriba (Departamento de Belén, Catamarca)

we analyze the spatial characteristics of colorado cerrito, la ciénaga de arriba (department of belén) and the chronological information available for the site. the aim is to investigate the experience and perception under the socio-political landscape`s studies about hualfín valley, period of "regional developments". traditionally, this site was assigned in the phase ii of belén culture. according to the high altitude, its visibility, the inaccessibility, and defensive features, one can interpret the site as a protected village with physical (and symbolic) boundaries such as walls and parapets. it is also suggested that the cerrito was perhaps occupied temporarily, when local people, scattered throughout the surrounding fields, felt threatened.
