Abstract:

the tritrophic interaction among the predator bug podisus nigrispinus (dallas) and five species of eucalyptus damaged by thyrinteina arnobia (stoll) larvae was evaluated. p. nigrispinus visited more e. pellita than the other plant species and the leaf surface area was the primary factor (r=0,88) involved in such interaction. the presence of the herbivore on the plant elicited the highest number of visits of p. nigripinus, suggesting that there is an interaction between host plant-herbivore, problably mediated by kairomones.
