the article is an advance of a long-awaited research study on the impact of the spanish civil war in colombia. some of the working hypotheses presented are the following: that the victory of the spanish nationalists strengthened hispanic ideology, and fascist consciousness among colombians; that the colombian soul was ready to assimilate and appropriate the spanish conflict as if it were its own; that unpurged hispanic and fascist ideologies continued to develop in colombia after the civil war and world war ii ended; and, finally, that the fascists penetrated the colombian political system through the revolving doors of state institutions.
