the access to health data involves a set of proceedings related to the privacy and consent of access imposed by the national authorities versus the public interest underlying the research activities. the objective of this paper is to discuss the problems that researchers face to access to health data. the authors defend a clarification of the proceedings and the adoption of "good practices" essential both in the collect and access to data, including the quality of the data which is fundamental to the understanding of health related inequalities.
