Abstract:

the vascular wilt, caused by fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici, is a disease that affects the root of tomato plants and moves systemically. in this research, the effectiveness of isolates of trichoderma spp. for control of the disease, both in vitro and in vivo, was evaluated. we used ten isolates of the genus trichoderma, as follows: four isolates of t. harzianum (b2, c3, i9, j10), four of t. koningii (d4, e5, g7, h8), one of t. longibrachiatum (a1), and one of t. atroviride (f6)harzianum (b2, c3, i9, j10), atroviride (f6). likewise, five isolates of the pathogen, collected from tomato fields, were used. for in vitro testing, antagonists and pathogens were placed in dual cultures in petri dishes under a completely randomized design, and the inhibition percentages of growth and sporulation were evaluated. the in vivo evaluation was carried out by applying the isolates of trichoderma spp in tomato plants, rio grande variety, infected with f. oxysporumsp. lycopersici, under greenhouse conditions. the severity of the disease was assessed using a completely randomized design. the isolates a1, i9, h8 and j10 had the highest percentage of growth inhibition of f. oxysporum, while i9 j10 isolates, both corresponding to trichoderma harzianum, were those that, in general, showed the best control of f. oxysporum when considering the totality of the in vitro and in vivo tests.
