Estudio lingüístico de la fitonimia científica de las orquídeas desde una perspectiva multidisciplinaria

the study of orchid names contributes to develop scientific knowledge about plant names. this research is a methodological experience on the study of plant family names and its purpose is to contribute to the foundations of phytonomy in latin america. the approach used in this study is rooted in the scientific methods of linguistics, onomastics and terminology, as well as botany, plant systematics and orchideology. thus, in the scientific description of the orchid names a balance combination between botanic and linguistic methods was used.
