Usos y funciones de vale y ？venga! En el habla de madrid

within the project preseea(project for the sociolinguistic study of spanish language from spain and america) a corpus of spoken language in the speech community of madrid (spain) has been collected. this corpus can be used as data for studies from a variationist point of view, which, no doubt, enable us to acquire a broader perspective on the uses of spanish. in this paper we examine the uses and the functions of two discursive particles: the interjective particle venga and the discursive particle vale. both these particles are multifunctional elements, interchangeable in certain communicative contexts. they seem to be useful in spanish communicative interactions, particularly in young people？s colloquial language.
