ESTRATEGIAS TECNOLóGICAS CONSERVADAS EN CONTEXTOS AGROPASTORILES TEMPRANOS DE LA PUNA MERIDIONAL ARGENTINA

from the perspective of technological organization, curated, expedient strategies are the most widely used to explain the result-ing material producís of their implementation. in general, these strategies have been associated with hunter-gatherer societies, thus their applicability to producer economies has been rare. based on a particular artifact assemblage of lithic shovels and/or hoesfrom antofagasta de la sierra (catamarca, southern plateau of argentina,), we analyze and discuss the implementation of a technological strategy from an early agropastoral context and how it is reflected in artifact designs. the methodology employed consisted of techno-morphological analysis, experimentation, and use wear analysis.
