Análisis econométrico de los determinantes de la criminalidad en Chile

the high rates of criminality shown in chilean society in recent years, have generated concern in both government and researchers, thus increasing the importance of lines of research trying to explain the variables that influence crime rates in the country. the following research was conducted through mathematical formulations and the corresponding econometric specification through the use of panel data, allowing for the design of analysis models with which the factors that motivate a person to commit a crime can be determined. the study results show that criminality is determined by many factors such as: socioeconomic, demographic, dissuasive and of public policies, that may affect criminality positively or negatively.
