La desigualdad en la revolución bolivariana: Una década de apuesta por la democratización del poder, la riqueza y la valoración del estatus

this article examines the experience of ten years of the chávez government, in terms of one of its central objectives: overcoming the notorious inequality and incorporating the poor and excluded into society. after documenting the radical nature of the government？s compromise with the policy of greater equality, the author analyzes the policies adopted and registers the statistical evidence available over the results. the conclusion is that, while the statistics on inequality in the distribution of income for 2007 and 2008 indicate a slight improvement on the situation throughout the previous decade, the impact of government policies has evidently been limited, especially taking into account the radical nature of the discourse and of the commitment.
