Dynamica Safety Evaluation of Slopes or Dam Foundations Using Rigid Body-Spring Element Method

Rigid bodyspring element method is presented to evaluate the dynamic stability of slopes or dam foundations under earthquake. The dynamic safety factor determined with this method varies with time, which is quite different from the results of limit equalibrium method or the finite element method. The method also makes it possible to search for the most dangerous slope body.
