DETERMINATION OF FRACTURE TOUGHNESS FOR DEEP WELL ROCK WITH GEOPHYSICAL LOGGING DATA
|
Abstract:
It is important to acquire rock fracture toughness for project designing at great depth in the domain of oil industry. The rock fracture toughness obtained from experiments of core under zero confining pressure can not represent the real toughness of the formation at great depth. A new way is presented to predict the fracture toughness for deep well rock with geophysical logging data. The relationship between fracture toughness and tensile strength under confining pressure is deeply studied, and a model is established to predict the fracture toughness of deep well rock with geophysical logging data.
