Acetic Acid Corrosion Behavior of N80 Steel
|
Abstract:
The corrosion perfromance of annulus N80 steel was examined in a simulated oil and gas field environment with acetic acid in an autoclave, and the corrosion rate was measured by weight loss method. The results showed that the corrosion rate of N80 increased with the increasing of acetic acid concentration, but the corrosion rate of N80 steel was lower with 3000 μl/L than that with 1000 μl/L of acetic acid concentration, and the corrosion rate of N80 steel was much higher in the corrosion mediun with acetic acid than that without acetic acid.Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM),X Ray Diffractometers(XRD)and Energy Dispersive x-ray Spectra(EDS)were used to characterize the corrosion features of annulus N80 steel with different concentation of acetic acid. The corrosion mechanism in the presence of acetic acid in oil was also discussed.
