Isotopic Age of Shijuli Gabbro in North Qilian Mountain and Its Geological Significance
|
Abstract:
The U-Pb isotopic age of Shijuli gabbro in North Qilian Mountain is (457.9±1.2) Ma. The Shijuli gabbro is located in the south of the Shijuli copper deposit and is obviously related to this deposit. Although the metallogenic age of this deposit is not known, studies show that it was formed in Caledonian, with the rock-forming age earlier than the ore-forming age. This possibly suggests that the rock body provided heat for the deposit. As this area has many intermediate-acid rocks, the determination of the rock-forming age has an important theoretical and practical significance in search for the Cyprus massive sulfide ore deposits in this area.
