PROFESSIONAL COMMITMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY EMPLOYEES UNDER DEPRESSION ENVIRONMENTSKeywords: Job Satisfaction , Work Stress , Professional Commitment , Information Technology Employees Abstract: This study aims at to what extent the professional commitment of IT staff being affected by the amount of work stress and job satisfaction under the environment of economic downturn, as well as professional jobs IT staff being directly affected by work stress and job satisfaction that is the willingness of taking IT profession as their permanent career. According to the 280 effective questionnaires collected, the findings indicate that during economic downturn, job satisfaction is positively correlated with professional commitment; while work stress has a significant negative correlation with professional commitment. Moreover, job satisfaction has a significant positive influence on professional commitment; and general satisfaction, satisfaction toward the achievement acquired from work, has the highest impact on professional commitment.
