Abstract:

Pulmoner tuberculosis is most common clinic form. Peritoneal tuberculosis occurs in about 1-3% of cases of Tuberculosis and its incidence is increasing. The organism may enter the peritoneal cavity through the bowel wall, by direct extension from gynecologic tract, or by haematogenous spread from a primary pulmonary focus. The ascitic fluid is exudative in peritoneal tuberculosis. Microbiological examinations of ascitic fluid and PPD are of limited diagnostic value. Abdominal ultrasound and computerized tomography usually reveal ascites, peritoneal and omental thickening and enlarged lymph nodes. Peritoneal tuberculosis may cause the elevation of CA 125 which is a malignant epithelial ovarian tumor marker. Radiologic examination findings, presence of ascite and the elevation of CA 125 are nonspecific findings which may imitate advanced ovarian carcinoma (over Ca), peritonitis carcinomatosa and peritoneal tuberculosis. In this case report we aimed to present unmarried 26 years old woman’s clinic that mimics clinic of advanced over Ca but diagnosed as peritoneal tuberculosis during the operation.
