Herpes Ensefalitis: Case ReportKeywords: Herpes simplex virus , encephalitis , acyclovir Abstract: Herpes simplex virus (HSV) is the most common cause of acute sporadic viral encephalitides. The mortality rate is over 70% without treatment. Demonstration of HSV-DNA by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is the most sensitive microbiologic method for the diagnosis. In this report, we present a case of herpes simplex encephalitis, who admitted to our department with fever and seizure. We demonstrated HSV-DNA by PCR and BBT findings supported the diagnosis of HSV encephalitis.
