Abstract:

Distributed generation (DG) application hasreceived increasing attention during recent years. The impactof DG on various aspects of distribution system operation,such as reliability and energy loss, depend highly on DGlocation in distribution feeder. Optimal DG placement is animportant. This paper presents a new methodology usingartificial bee’s conoly algorithm (ABC) for the placement andsize of Distributed Generators (DG) in the radial distributionsystems. The proposed method is tested in standard IEEE 33bus test system and the results are presented.
