Abstract: The current study is an experience report about the development of an online component of the graduation disciplines English I and English IV in the Faculty of languages of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. The aim is to describe and analyze the planning stage of the online learning environment which was carried out by the project entitled Letras 2.0. Some questions guided the reflection such as How did the planning of activities and task management happen? Which roles did the professor, the assessor and monitors play? What challenges were faced during the course planning? What strategies were used to overcome them? The theoretical foundation used contemplates the area of distance education, specifically instructional design issues and literature.
