A HIPóTESE INATISTA DE AQUISI O DA LINGUAGEM EM PERSPECTIVA: ASPECTOS REAL ADOS E ENCOBERTOSKeywords: Language acquisition , Innatist Hypothesis , Interactionism Abstract: The innatist hypothesis of language acquisition arose in the middle 1950s, with the development of Generative Grammar studies by Noam Chomsky, being it one of the main theories to explain the process of language acquisition by children so far. The objective of this article is to approach the innatist hypothesis, discussing highlighted aspects in this theoretical paradigm, also problematizing factors either neglected by the theory, or left aside. A socio-interactionist viewwill be applied to briefly re-exam some of the innatist presuppositions critically, aiming at highlighting the most significant gaps of the innatist explanation for the process of language acquisition. It will be demonstrated that the innatist approach has underestimated necessary factors intervening in the process, such as factors of social order, communicative, historicaland cultural factors, evaluating the important role performed by such factors in the acquisition phenomenon.
