A MEMóRIA COMO CONSTRUTO DE IDENTIDADE CULTURAL GRAPIúNA

This article has as scope analyzing the process of construction of grapiúna cultural identity,through the memory, in Euclides Neto short stories; collected in his book O tempo é chegado. In order to reach that, it was taken as theoretical grounding the notions of collective memory,proposed by Maurice Halbwachs, and of cultural identity, proposed by Stuart Hall, the text identifies elements of collective memory and identity profiles, and analyzes the production andpreservation processes of identities of work′s universe. The work, focusing a local question, intends to contribute with the debate about contemporary cultural questions of Cultural Identity and Memory.
