Biometrics -A Review

A biometric system provides automatic identification of an individual based on a unique feature or characteristic possessed by the individual. The aim is to establish an identity based on who the person is, rather than on what the person possesses or what the person remembers. For the purposes of biometric recognition, one of the most important features is the ability to perform covert recognition, which can be performed by the fingerprint, face, iris and palmprint. Among these, iris recognition is regarded as the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system available.
