Abstract: Focusing on the figure of William Wilbeforce recreating his film Michael Apted on Amazing Grace, released in March 2006, analyzes the legislative and Christian heroic model is represented in the film and show how the film produces and incorporates an ideology that represents the result of a struggle: the struggle against slavery and Wilbeforce the slave trade, which marked the historical reality of power and still marking the anxieties of the time. William is the heroic model Wilbeforce our time need, a hero who fights using the policy as a weapon away from the violence that overwhelms us today. However, I note how this heroic model also shows inconsistencies: forget the rights of women because it is dominated by a patriarchal system very defined.
