O DISCURSO DA REVISTA VEJA E A CONSTRU O DA IMAGEM DO PT

This article aims at investigating Veja discourse magazine oriented to building the image of PT from the power relations between media and government in the episode of the monthly allowance (mensal o). The corpus of this research is the editorial and the cover of Veja magazine's 1911 edition June 29, 2005. The method adopted is Textually Oriented Discourse Analysis, from the perspective by Fairclough (2001) dialoguing with the category of ideology by Thompson (2009) and Social Semiotics by Kress and van Leeuwen (1996). It is confirmed in the analysis, Veja magazine has contributed to shaping a negative image of PT. This molding is evident in a biased and without ethical principles, with the intention of interfering in the 2006 presidential elections.
