“Quando o silêncio se rompe”: Cemitério Municipal S o José, Ponta Grossa(1881-2007)Keywords: Cemitery , Urban place , Social representations Abstract: This project seeks to perceive how social, cultural, and religiousrelations are expressed in the space distribution of the S o José cemetery in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná state, Southern Brazil, and how such relations are displayed in icons printed on the tombstones, since its foundation in 1881 until today. In this sense, issues such as memory, identity practice, and social representations converging in the urban space will be discussed.
