Narrar, comentar, interpretar, criar: biografia, jornalismo e história em Che Guevara, a vida em vermelho, de Jorge G. Casta eda, e Che Guevara: uma biografia, de Jon Lee Anderson

This article analyzes the production of biographic discourse underthe perspective of Journalism and History professionals. In order tounderstand the methodological issues in each field, in relation to the rather peculiar elaboration in the genre of biographies, two biographies on the same character shall be examined – the revolutionary leader Ernesto Guevara de La Serna. Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life by North-American journalist Jon Lee Anderson, and The Life and Death of Che Guevara by Mexican historian Jorge G. Casta eda (both published in Brazil in 1997). The interpretationof such works verifies similarities and discrepancies between biographies written by historians and journalists. In this sense, the theoretical and methodological references used were gathered from historiographical and journalistic studies.
