About 20 years ago, and during the 1990s, Rage Against the Machinedid not change the world, but endeavored to cause small aesthetic (at the level of musicmaking)and ethical quakes (at the level of civic intervention). The visual production that accompanied their music had become equally bold and unusual: videoclips based on foundfootage and live performances, concert films that sought to capture the visceral energy of live performance and a strong propaganda permeating both music and the images that accompany, seem to us aspects of note and worthy of reflection. This article is concernedwith the intersection between documentary and music never seen before in the entertainment industry and culture in contemporary music.
