Luz e negrume . Para uma reflex o no sentido da vida em António CorreiaKeywords: António Correia , Macau , Religion , Nature Abstract: This paper intends to explore the religious meaning of life and the world in the poetic work Fragmentos (‘Fragments’) by António Correia. As a Portuguese writer and poet who has long resided in Macau, his religiosity encompasses both the western and oriental Catholic culture. For this reason, the poems analysed reveal a watchful eye, always open to questioning and reflecting on historical-social events, the universal questions of human life and Nature, revealing a profound religious sensibility. Furthermore, his concept of freedom is framed by a western and oriental perspective, as it represents metaphorically the sense of freedom that is still alive in Macau and reveals the harmonious coexistence of different beliefs.
