Cultural Heritage and Intellectual Property

Cultural heritage is a symbol of the ascending process of human development but it should be accepted as a material basis for rational management that could accumulate certain economic benefits. There are a number of international documents regulating the preservation and exhibition of the universal world heritage. They emphasized principle of mandatory guaranteed access to the cultural and historical values, but it raises some questions related to copyright and the distribution of economic benefits from the realization of cultural products.
