Abstract:

A 23-year-old man presented with severe hematemesis due to gastric varices. The patient had a laparotomy. There was a matted mass in the pancreatic region and lymph nodes compressing on the portal vein mimicking a pancreatic cancer (a). The patient had major surgery including distal pancreatectomy, splenectomy, removal of the lymph nodes at the porta hepatis, and suture ligation of the varices (b).
