Self？e Related Injur？es and Deaths in Turkey

Abstract Background Selfie has become increasingly common day by day as the use of smartphones increases. In this study; it is aimed to draw attention to the fact that among the causes ofinjuries and deaths seen in recent years, selfie is also involved and contribute to the awareness of the danger. Methods In our study, newspaper news and other media news sources were examined Results The first case of injury and death related to selfie in our country was observed in April 2014. It was seen that between April 2014 and February 2018, there were 6 injuriesand 7 deaths. D？scuss？on Worldwide, between 2011 and 2018, there were 262 cases of injury and death related to selfie. Studies show onlya limited part of demographic and aetiological data Analysis of the psychosocial dynamics of the events is also needed
