Primitivizm And It’s Effect On Contemporary Art

There are various opinions on how and why art appeared. Among them stands out whether human created art for basic instinct or to struggle with wild animals, or with the hope for more abundance. At the very beginning, the inclination to art was the result of humans being helpless and vulnarable as opposed to the power of nature. Now, this inclination to art continues with different approaches to making art. For primitive people, art meant faith; on the other hand, for contemporary artists, art is a way of self- expression. Contemporary artists and primitive artists differ in aims; yet, they both look for the same thing in the nature and reflect the same magic and aura through their art. Both cotemporary and primitive artists contribute to nature and its meaning for human with their aim and faith. Primitive art expresses the essence of life rahter than brilliancy of life. Contemporary artists are also inspired by primitive art’s understanding of form, pureness and the way it reflects meaning. When compared, the passion to make art are based on different instincts for contemporary and primitive art. Despite these different reasons, pirimitive artists’ strong ability about form mentality, simplicity, and abstraction have influenced contemporary artists
