Women Wr？ters of Ch？ldren and Youth L？terature ？n Iran

Literary works mainly were produced by male writers and poets for centuries, not only in Iran but also all over the world. The voice of women writers and poets was not heard as they deserved. However, it is seen with surprise that that the number of Iranian female writers and poets has been increasing in the recent years. The works of the women writers are well-liked and followed up in Iran and scientific debates took place about them and their literary status became moreclearer. Now, in Iran, the voices of female authors can be heard as much as male writers.Children and youth literature constitutes the majority of literary work and female writers are shining with their numerous works in this field. Children read books not only by male authors but also by female authors and take pleasure of the works blended with woman's emotions and thoughts, just as they enjoy fairy tales and stories of their mothers. In our study, we aimed to introduce Iranian women writers in the field of children and youth literature, provide information about their lives and works and make them recognized by the Turkish readers. We have given priority to the writers who are well-known in Iran with their outstanding works and who we can find detailed information. The number of Iranian female authors have recently increased and the ones whose names are not mentioned in our study may be topic of another research. We believe that our study is the first study written in this field and it can be beneficial to the researchers who are interested in child and youth literature
