The Evaluation of Mystic Themes in Necip Mahfuz's al-Lissu Va'l-Kilab Novel

Since the first centuries of Islam, the mystical interpretation has found for itself in a wide area of spreading all over the Islamic World until today and continued without losing anything from its effect. The mystical approach, which is mainly related to moral attitudes and behaviors such as ascetism, taqva, wara, sincerity has left a wide and rich literature in classical Arabic literature. It is still one of the themes in modern Arab novel. Like the maqamat, it is seen that mystical elements are found in important works of the Arab prose and these elements are also used in the Modern Arab novel.
