The Effect of The Asthma Disease In Children On The Dental Caries

The growing number of child asthma patients is an indicator of a serious health problem worldwide. In addition to social, psychological, developmental and environmental issues; these children are suffering from dental health problems. An increase in caries prevalence may be seen in children with asthma due to the use of beta 2 agonists and corticosteroids. It can be concluded that asthmatic children have a higher prevalence of dental caries than healthy children. An awareness for these neglected dental health problems of young asthma patients needs to be risen and should be provided widespread preventive dental programmes
