Investigation of Sustainable Consumption Behaviors in Individuals Who Do and Don't Physical Activity

Sport which is both a part of international culture in today’s globalizing world and a significant unifying tool of humans of different races, languages, and religions acts as a political bridge among states and as cultural bridge among people. Due to this crucial role it has been playing in human beings' life, it is fundamental to find out the ties between sport and sustainability. This study aimed to analyse the sustainable consumer behaviours of sportsman and non-sportsman in the framework of certain variables. Relational screening model which is one of the general screening models was used in the study. 753 volunteer athletes engaged indoor and outdoor sports and non-sportsman players from a university participated into the study. Survey consisting of two parts, the first of which includes personal information and the second of which includes Sustainable Consumer Behaviour Scale was conducted to collect the data. The findings showed that age and the scores of individuals' sensitivity about nature affect their sustainable consumption behaviours positively. Especially certificated sportsman players and recreative sportsman players compared to non-sportsman players and outdoor sportsman players compared to indoor sportsman players and non-sportsman players were found to have more positive sustainable consumer behaviours
