《活着》法语译本翻译策略探讨

Abstract:

余华的代表作之一,长篇小说《活着》,自1993年首次发表以来获得了世界文学界的广泛关注和高度评价。本文选取2008年于法国出版的由杨平翻译的法语译本进行研究。归化和异化作为翻译中文化转化的两种基本策略,一直是翻译界讨论的热点话题。本文以“归化”和“异化”策略的使用作为出发点,探讨《活着》法语译本中的翻译策略问题。本研究从原著中的文化负载词以及成语谚语等极具中国文化特色的词句入手,与法语译本进行对比分析,从而得出值得借鉴的翻译策略,为法语学习者以及翻译从业者提供一定程度上的经验参考。研究发现,在《活着》法译中,异化和归化策略的结合有助于目的语读者理解文意和更好地领略中国文化。
One of Yu Hua’s masterpieces, “Huozhe”, has received widespread attention and high praise from the world of literature since its first publication in 1993. This paper selects the French translation published in France in 2008 and translated by Yang Ping for study. Naturalization and alienation, as two basic strategies of cultural transformation in translation, have always been a hot topic of dis-cussion in the translation field. This paper takes the use of “naturalization” and “alienation” as the starting point to explore the translation strategies in the French translation of Alive. Starting from the culturally loaded words and idioms and proverbs in the original text, the study compares and analyzes them with the French translation, so as to come up with translation strategies that are worthy of reference, and to provide a certain degree of empirical references for learners of French as well as practitioners of translation. It is found that in the French translation of “Huozhe”, the combination of alienation and naturalization helps the target readers to understand the meaning of the text and better appreciate Chinese culture.
