A rela？？o narrador/leitor na tradu？？o machadiana de Oliver Twist

in 1870, invited by the owners of jornal da tarde, machado de assis translated part of the novel oliver twist by charles dickens. machado's translation presents some peculiarities, i.e., the structures that enable the text assimilation in the translation differ from those in the original oliver twist. among such structures, the narrative voice is particularly noticeable. this paper aims at analysing some point of view aspects in the machadian translation and discussing possible implications as far as the implied reader is concerned.
