"Las Galderas": Logros y Contradicciones de Una Investigación-Acción Comunitaria Sostenible, Entre Pescadores Ribere？os del Bajo Orinoco, Venezuela

the achievements and contradictions of a sustainable communitarian action-research developed between an interdisciplinary team of researchers and advanced post-graduated students in a riparian fishermen's community in the low orinoco, venezuela, are analyzed. the main objective of this study was to provide community conditions to empower people to ,develop administrate and profit some sustainable eco-socio-economical projects in order to transform their own conditions of live. projects: fish-culture, ecotourism, tree nursery, pottery and environmental education; developed by little groups (6-14 persons), formed on 2 ？ years. results: a fish-culture cooperative (project: 30 ton/year fish production), a tree nursery cooperative (project: reforestation of orinoco's humid forest), legalization of land's tenancy, 40 persons technically formed, a school community organized (construction of the local school and kindergarten), attitudinal changes to pro-environment, community council organized (emergency of women's leadership). the main contradictions are the non-concretion of community projects, the inconsistency in local and national government's institutions, as well as in the community's management.
