with the increase of the number of contact sports practitioners, the risk of dental, articular and/or facial trauma as also increased throughout the years. the use of individualized and comfortable mouthguards, that make breading and communication easy, is essential in all contact sports. they offer several advantages protecting the teeth, soft tissues and temporo-mandibular articulation, and preventing mandibular fractures. in this work, we will try to explore these aspects of mouthguards and describe the standard and new techniques, presented in recent studies, to make them.
