in this paper i intend to explain how the political competition, in the town of cardoso moreira, influences the beliefs of the residents and how the rift between the civil servants manifests itself. furthermore, i explore the relationship of high dependence between the rulers and the ruled, in particular when it is related to the granting of public employment. i have noted that the locals try to deceive, through discursive strategies, the submission applied by the political representatives. it is from these strategies that the locals seek a greater degree of freedom and equality and then negotiate their support and resources.
